[Herky] Kirk Ferentz betting on Brian Ferentz to uplift sputtering Iowa offense is risky

I disagree with the tone of this article. Certainly, Iowa’s offense has been substandard the last couple of years, particularly at the QB position. But Brian was not the QB coach. Last year the O Line was pretty bad the first half of the year. Was that due to coaching, recruiting, injuries or player turnover?
I think Brian should be given the confidence to pull it off and not attacked with negative inferences. A QB who understands the offense and who can throw with accuracy can make any QB coach look good. Brian may not have the technical experience to tell a QB how to hold the ball and what angle to release, etc., but who knows. I’m more interested in play calling that takes into account the game situation, the defense scheme, and the players out there.
That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.
