[Herky] Tyler Cook, Luka Garza meshing quickly for Iowa

I agree.  These two guys work well together.  I noticed Cook has 5 assists and 0 turnovers in 2 games.  That’s a nice start for the big man.  The two of them have combined for 3.5 assists per game, which you don’t see much from inside players, especially when each one is playing only about 19 minutes per game.

Garza is raw and he’ll make his share of freshmen mistakes, but I think Cook’s presence in the paint is really going to help in his progression.

Speaking of assists and turnovers, Bohannon and Ellingson have combined for 20 assists and 2 turnovers in the 2 games.

These two have games that compliment each other well.  One key to this year is going to be Cook's patience and passing.  It is 100% better than last year but still has a ways to go.  Last year I am not sure I ever saw a pass once the ball got to him. Last night he made some good decisions to pass it out rather than take a bad shot. But he still forced some shots into double and triple teams when he had teammates open for the shot.
