The Illinois State players were smaller than Iowa players and they lost last Saturday to Eastern Illinois which was unexpected.

O line was the big mystery. NDSU did the Hawks a disservice by exposing how bad our O line is. They will get better by the end of the year but will Bethard survive it? Our running backs are pretty good, nothing world beating but I don’t care if you have Bo Jackson or Emmit Smith back there, if the O line can’t open holes, it won’t matter.

He, more often than not, stands in one place in the pocket and is taking some huge hits, even if he gets the pass off. Everything I have read is that the knee was 100% and the brace was just a precaution. I am beginning to wonder if that is the case.
