It was a very good game with Ronnie Lester matching basket for basket against Darryl Griffin. Then Ronnie landed awkwardly driving to the bucket and reinjured his knee - The Hawks couldn't win without him so they lost to the eventual champ. We also had tickets for the consolation and championship games. After Iowa played in the first game - and I don't remember whether they won or lost - we walked outside during the break and sold our ticket stubs which gained entry to MSA for the championship game for 4X their face value. We then walked to a nearby bar and enjoyed numerous pitchers of beer while watching it on TV.</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1428179957259_12075" dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Lute Olson had Iowa flying high but the winters got to his wife so they eventually ended up at Arizona. Lester never quite regained his superb quickness so was just OK in the NBA.
