[Herky] Final Michigan 84 Iowa 79

It all comes down to what poll voters or the algorithms value. I don’t know all the gory details of the NET, but if you look at Iowa compared to, say, Rutgers, it’s pretty clear that the NET puts a high value on avoiding bad losses. Rutgers has several more big wins than Iowa has to date, but also has some horrendous non-conference losses from early in the season. It’s easy to look at Iowa and the lack of Quad 1 wins, but there is also value in not having Quad 3/4 losses.
I think the way things sit today, Iowa is in the tournament field, but Iowa absolutely still has a chance to play their way out. Ideally, they’d get hot down the stretch and play their way up to the 4-6 line somewhere to avoid a potential 2nd round matchup against a top 2 seed. Games like last night are so frustrating because even though they didn’t play great, the game was still there for them - make a couple more bunnies and eliminate just a couple of the sloppy turnovers and that’s an Iowa win.

A key to that is Iowa's NET rating, now 21 . The NET rating will be influential in seeding.

I saw a graphic that showed Iowa as a 7 seed. Was surprised by that.
On another item; why did CJ Fredricksen go to KY?
