 I can still remember listening Jim Zabel calling that game.  
It sounded like he had ran a marathon when the game ended.  He was exhaust trying to keep up with all of the scoring that was taking place.
Mount would have recorded 70 points if there was a three point line.

You nailed it, Keith!  This is the best offensive Iowa team I've seen since I started following Hawkeye basketball some 40 years ago, but their defense is - at best - mediocre. They seem to constantly be out of position and are much too slow to react (except maybe for Murray).  If you get a chance, take a look at around the 13 minute mark of the second half.  Captures it all - the Illinois guy (can't recall who it was) on the baseline just outside the arc is WIDE open with not a single defender anywhere within the same zip code (of course, the fact that the bozo missed the jumper is a different story...).Like you, I don't see this changing - I think most games our offense can overcome poor defense but if the offense decides to take a break (like it did against the Hoosiers) or it faces a team that is quick and hard on defense (like the Illini last night) we're in trouble.Honestly, I thought Iowa was the better team last night and when they got the ball back (after foiling the inbounds play right near the end) I really thought they'd tie the game with a 3 - wasn't to be I guess :-(h well, I'm still enjoying watching this team!

Regardless, Illinoiz outplayed Iowa defensively.  Too many open men in the corner as our defense collapsed to the center and other side.  Defense is our Achilles heel and unfortunately it probably won’t change. 

Also, when CJ isn’t in there, defenses have one less problem and can key on JB and JW.  Bohannan was covered like glue the entire game.
