Fredrick needs to be in the starting lineup next year. The problem is that all of our guards were injured to some extent at the end of the year which affected their mobility, with the exception of Tony Perkins. Joe Weiskamp was playing with a sprained ankle and Bohannon has admitted he had a bad shoulder. In addition to Fredrick and Conner McCaffery, Fran said on a Doug Gottlieb podcast that Toussaint and Ahron Ulis would have post season surgery for undisclosed reasons. Iowa had 4 players who could play the point ( Bohannon, Conner, Toussaint and Ulis) but none were completely healthy by the end of the season. Given the paucity of big men, Iowa may have no choice but to go small. I don't expect Weiskamp to be back.

Plus some of our starters were injured and not 100%. That's the one that bothers me the most. 1-it tells me the injured guys were superior to any back ups, 2-our back ups may not be that good. Starting 5 next year IMHO K. Murray then whom? Will Bohannan be back and will he be healthy? Weiskamp may be back, hard to tell. Joe T will probably be the 1, Keegan the 4, J Bo a 2???? if he comes back. Then Perkins? Insert new guy?. I'm very concerned this team will be small but quick in spots. Not much else is there?

As I assume we have all done, I watched a LOT of Basketball the past 3 weeks. Teams that advanced played defense and they all had quick guards who could get their shot off. I know we need a BIG right now but We had 3 starters who were not quick enough. We need faster, quicker guards if we are to be a final 8 team in the future. 



It is estimated that there will be 1300 players in the transfer portal.
