Very disappointed in the team's performance, especially in light of Minny's, Illini's, & even Purdue's performances Saturday.  Both of our lines,  who were supposed to be strengths, were clearly dominated.  Hard to believe that we're favored over Minny Saturday??
Hawkeyes are only college game on Indy tv tonight.

I agree with all the comments, except that let’s not forget that 2015 was one of the easiest schedules in history.  We had a good team but didn’t play the best, and the tough games were at home.

I also think it boils down to the O Line, especially G-C-G.  The backs don’t consistently have holes and the QB can’t wait for receivers to get open.  Maybe our receiving corps isn’t that good, either.

I long for the old days when it didn’t matter what the down and distance was—we had a chance to move the ball for 1st downs.  That isn’t the case now.

I hope one of our up and coming QB’s has the pizzaz to move the ball consistently and hit on passes that should be completed.

While I think we have a really good chance of winning out, I am becoming discouraged overall.  The games against the tough teams are close, but Iowa is just not good enough.  Maybe other teams are developing 4 stars like we develop 3 stars.  Just because we help the 3’s improve, we could also help the 4’s, and that may account for the few points we seem to always come up short.

At the beginning of the season we would not be too unhappy with 8 - 4.  We can see the potential to be very good, but .....  What disappoints is not the play calling I am disappointed because what are usually our strengths , line play, did not pan out this year. W/o the offensive line our quarterback did not do as well as expected. Lets win out !!

Sorry – the run was off the ‘left tackle’, not the right tackle I originally stated.

IMHO. I think the same that I always have – the MAJOR  (not the only) problem is in our play calling and QB play. We had a good run off the right tackle, so why not do it 11 more friggin’ times in a row? The rest of the plays were as vanilla as you can imagine. Every single one was what you could expect it to be in the given situation – predictable. Oh, and 3 minor annoyances on defense – 1. if you are going to blitz, don’t blitz immediately into the back or lineman that will block you right out of the play! Saw this happen 4 times. Absolutely useless to take a guy out of the play with a stunt like that. 2. Another is why did we put a true freshman against their elite receiver M-t-M? Also, the other D-backs seem to continue to want to tackle after the catch, rather than break up the pass. 3. Why did we not isolate a linebacker on Taylor? Have him shadow the guy exclusively. He was 2-3 yds beyond the line of scrimmage almost every time before the 1st hit occurred. Of COURSE he is going to put up 250 yds with that level of respect boing offered.

Aa for the QB play…Once Stanley realized he had an arm, he started throwing some good passes, but he again started with the ‘yips’ and threw some clunkers. Also, he is about as mobile as 6’5” lineman when he runs (that is, when he decides to do so after an unbearably long delay on the goal line conversion). He runs in a straight line – no cutting, deviation, or avoiding obstacles in front of him. That is a problem.

I KNOW that Stanley is technically the 2nd best QB in Iowa history right now, but I am sorry – I have never felt he was as good all around as the hype suggests. He will be about as successful on Sundays as Jay Cutler was.

Still a fan, still thinking they will win out, but DAMN, I wish we can start winning the ones we weren’t supposed to win.

Is it wrestling season yet? Some GREAT news on that front. Will likely detail it out this week, if anyone is interested…….

Iowa will lose to Ninny & Illanoy, maybe beat Nuhbraksuh...maybe.

So disappointed with this team.  Such potential.  And nothing.  Barta needs to go, clean house and be done with it.

Thanks for all your years, Kirk.  Thanks for letting your boys play for Iowa. They were pretty good.  But the program has gone stagnant.  We aren't progressing.  Minny is better by far.  Illinois is better than they've been in a long time.  Same ol' same ol' and this year we went backwards.

Sorry gang but very disgusted with this O.  Thank god the D has been very good (for the most part).  The D just ran out of gas today.

As i watched this game I came to the conclusion that Iowa will probably be no better than a 500 team in the Big Ten.Iowa is a development program.  I am not sure that model will work any more.  The good players do not stick around like they used too.  If Hooker, Nelson and at least one of the TE's come back this year it is a totally different season.  More underclass players will leave this year and Iowa will again be a couple of players short of being able to complete for championships.

I hate losing to Wisconsin. I’d love to give Minnesota their first loss next week but odds are not good.
