[Herky] Hawks win

A very good win even if it was against a winless Illinois.
Coming back from 20 points down is a big achievement.

I agree with you that the rotation of too many players will be going down with the main 8-9 players getting the most of the minutes.  Very disappointed with Pemsl's playing level.  maybe, losing those 20+ lbs has affected his game and he now has to learn to play differently.  Gets easily frustrated.  Hope he will be back up soon.

I am beginning to like Garza and Dailey as they show great effort.

JoBo's stationary dribbling gets on my nerves too especially at the end of the half where it always has resulted in no points for us or points for the enemy.

I think you’re right.  Wagner and Nunge will probably average 2 to 3 garbage minutes per game.  Nunge really looks tentative, almost scared, afraid to make a mistake.  Just a kid with a lot to learn. I’m wondering it we’ll see Uhl getting some minutes.

Pemsl may get only 7 to 8 minutes a game if Kriener continues to play hard and make shots.  Pemsl is very inconsistent, foul-prone, and has regressed somewhat.

Fran always liked the overall floor play from Ellingson, but he has also been inconsistent. Ellingson is probably getting more minutes because of the absence of McCaffery.

The only complaint I have about Dailey is that he dribbles too much.  As a mater of face, Bohannon also takes up a lot of clock time with stationary dribbling.  But, considering the pressure Illinois put on the perimeter, Jordan still had a very good game, working very hard to get open for shots and finding shots for teammates.

I really like the energy Garza has, end to end.  He’ll get schooled a lot, but I think he’ll get 20 minutes a game.

A couple of things stand out to me.

- Fran never lost this team and this team never quit.

- I think we are starting to see the narrowing of the rotation.  The biggest surprise is Nunge who was starting to now on the fringe.

- Dailey is starting to think and act more like a PG.  This will be a learning experience for him for the rest of the season but I see signs of him running the offense like a PG should. He is still making mistakes but the improvement is happening. This is allowing Bohannon to spend more time at the 2 which will help.

- I am still surprised that Ellingson is getting as much time as he does.

- Garza is still learning but it looks like he will be able to compete just fine this year against B1G talent not just the teams ranked 300 or worse.

- It was really good to see Kreiner taking (and making) the 12 -15 footer again. Seems like he got away from that and it is something this team needs. He and Garza make a good one -two punch.
