Iowa football is mediocre in a relative sense.  About 6 or 7 B1G teams have more talented players than the Hawkeyes have.  Getting elite players to come to Iowa City is a huge challenge for Ferentz.  I don’t see that changing.

Historically, Iowa teams have players who expend a great deal of effort and are coachable. In a few cases, some 3-star athletes end up performing at 5-star levels.  Just not quite enough of those guys.
