They have some glaring issues on defense, especially in transition and dribble drives to the paint and dribble-drive-dish.  I haven’t been very impressed with the defense of the big guys, except for Cook.  Wagner really hasn’t improved since his freshman year.  Garza really is a work in progress and will be all year.  Nunge has a lot to learn too.  

Virginia Tech has some very good athletes and they could make some noise in the ACC.  The ACC is the best conference imho.

I really thought this team might be pretty good but I am having serious doubts right now.  Through 7 games I have not seen anything that makes me think this team is anything better than an 8th or 9th place team in the BT.  I guess the good news is that it looks like the BT is really weak this year. This team will be lucky to make the NIT.  Fran has a real challenge ahead of him.
