Not saying you are not right but how is the fact that we don't have a good punter the fault of the special teams coach. He was not responsible for recruiting a kicker.  They do not have a good punter but I don't think you can say they have not worked hard to try and get a good punter.  They were looking at punters all over the country last year and they gave out a scholarship (which is not normal for Iowa) to get the guy they wanted.


You may also recall that Kirk brought in a guy this last spring that had a great reputation in the NFL around special teams. They have incorporated some great trick plays this year. Coverage has been solid all year. They just have two guys that at this point are not very good punters.

I think that teams like Nebraska hurt themselves by firing coaches too quickly but Iowa seems to hold onto them despite increasingly poor performance on the field. Yesterday was really ridiculous

The punting game as Scott has said is utterly unacceptable and has stymied the offense. The punting lost the game in East Lansing and sure did not help yesterday

I don't know if Ferentz should go or not but another season like this and I will have no doubt. Maybe sooner

It sounds like I'm in the minority here, but firing KFz isn't the answer here.  For those who want him fired, who do you really think Iowa will get that would be better?

The same plays run over and over and they work 1 time for 6 yards, maybe.  Short side sweep?  High school offense.  More pass attempts on first down is good, but the leadership is just not there.

Kirk needs to go.  The punt game is worse than high school.  Kick off, PAT, FG seem solid.  Get a Junior College punter for god’s sake.
