[Herky] Offense

When you are playing a team like WI you will not get many opportunities and you have to take advantage of them.  The first time Iowa had the ball after it was 7-3. They give the ball to Wadley and if he had cut back there was nothing but open field ahead of him - think the Butler cut back last week but more open space.  But Wadley ran up the back of the OL.  It was a good gain of 6 yards or so but should have been a TD.


WI has figured out how to stop Iowa for many years. They blitz more than anyone. Other teams are starting to figure it out and are doing the same.  If Purdue and Neb do the same I am afraid that we will see more of the same on offense. Fortunately for us Ohio State did not follow the pattern and we got one good offensive game.

Does this requires major changes or will minor adjustments  work? Can we really do much about it in two weeks or is this an off season project?

Well, the offense and kicking game is back to its pre Ohio State miserable performance.  Our line is being pushed all over the place.  This appears to be the true Iowa offense.



What effort does it take to find a kicker?
