Connor will walk on unless someone besides Dale Jones leaves. He also plans to play baseball. 

Both Garza and Nunge appear to be shot blockers so may help interior defense in the future. Competition at the center and power forward positions is going to be fierce next year, with those two, Cook, Pemsl, Wagner, Kriener, Uhl, and Baer all capable of playing there. Some of those may also play at small forward.

There will only be two scholarships available. (Jok and Jones) That already leaves Connor McCaffery without a scholarship. Do we know what his plans are? Walk on, JC? 

Cordell needs to watch his mouth too. 


The flagrant foul was at the other end of the court. I thought it was, my friend thought it was a hard basketball play. What did the TV guys think?

I totally agree. IMO, the biggest gaffe in the defense execution is in the paint. We need a stopper in there to reduce the number of bunny shots. We also need more offense in the paint. I hope the two bigs coming in next year can contribute, or if there is a bug lug in the JC ranks. 



Our putrid free throw shooting also contributed to this loss. 



I think turnovers will be reduced dramatically next year as these kids become more familiar with each other’s tendencies. We will see fewer missed passes, and defense should improve as well as teamwork improves. 



All in all, I think it was a very nice season. We don’t have one and done freshmen, but they are very good and overall performed well in their first year. I expect a really good year next year.

Iowa goes down to TCU in OT. Pretty disappointing effort on the defensive end. If this team wants to be anything but average they need to spend the four months working on defense. Hopefully the overseas trip will give Fran additional time for them to learn to defend. Crowd sounded great.
