[Herky] Late observations

Speed, speed. Hawks showed last week and again this weed lack of speed and athleticism in both OL and DL plus LBs and secondary (except King). Nice to have big linemen from small IA towns, but we could also use some from Southern states, CA, etc..and some blacks. Had many greats, but need more

My big concern is receivers. CJ seems to have the arm and decent accuracy, but he needs folks to catch the ball.

I think they are 8-4, have all year.

They need to stop shooting themselves in the foot.

Penalties are killing them. 7 penalties.

I started off thinking Iowa was a 10-2 type team. After last week I was at 8-4. Now I am thinking 7-5 or 6-6. Yes there are a lot of things that can be 'cleaned up' but there are serious issues beyond that. They are short on talent in the starting line-up and don't seem to have any depth. Starters are playing pretty much every snap. They are wearing out now and that will only get worse as the season progresses.

Not pretty but it is a Big Ten win.

Way too many penalties & both lines failed at times.

Lots of room for improvement (I hope!).

Wisky caught Sparty down after emotional win last week. They look like they're for real. Not sure Hawkeyes are in Wisky & Husker talent level?

Go Hawks,,

Waste King's return. Nobody open so CK gets sacked twice. No rest for defense as a result.

Sorry to say that I agree w/Keith.

Here we go again. Can’t score. D-line is tiring. After 3 quarters, Iowa is in Heap Big Trouble, IMHO.

Keith - I agree. I look forward to the 70 yard run on the first play of the half that will get called back due to a questionable penalty.

Looking forward to this first offensive series after the half.

Think they started to assert themselves the previous offensive possession that came up empty. Rutgers' star broke the huge gainer but got hurt & the defense was stout near goal line. Let's hope the tide has turned.

Very nice 99 yard drive at the end of the half. Good to see Beathard running well. I noticed that he is not wearing the brace.

Hate to see anyone get hurt, but Iowa just received a lucky break.

We need more than a cart-off, however.

I was hoping for domination today.
