I have been wondering for a few weeks if I should
post some personal info and tonight I decided that
I needed to and because sometimes I think of Herky
as part of my extended family.
 
My wife of 53 years, died on November 5 after a
difficult struggle with Alzheimer's.  We had a
beautiful service for her on November 15.  My
"kids" (2 Iowa grads and one Minnesota grad)
have been a great help to me.
 
Even though Sharry grew up in Minnesota, she
always had room in her heart for loving all things
related to Iowa.
 
None of you probably ever met her except that
Gwen almost did a couple of years ago in a cold
and windy parking lot after a Minnesota game.

Sharry's Obit

Elias, Sharry J. age 78, of Fridley, passed away on Nov. 5,
2016 after a difficult journey with Alzheimer's. Sharry grew
up on a dairy farm near Houston, MN and later worked
many years at Land O' Lakes. She was devoted to her
family and will always be remembered for her kind and
gentle nature. Preceded in death by parents, Harold &
Sylvia Beckman; and infant son, David. Survived by husband of 53 years,
Donovan; children, Debra (Steve) Elias Morse, Robert (Julie) and Cynthia;
grandchildren, Sylvia, Chloe, Henry, Oliver & Marius; sisters, Marilyn
(Allen) Betz and Cathleen (Lee) Battles. Visitation from 5-8 PM on Thurs.,
Nov 10 at Miller’s on University, 7398 University Ave NE, Fridley. Funeral
Service 12 PM with visitation one hour prior on Friday, Nov 11 at Fridley
United Methodist Church, 680 Mississippi St NE, Fridley. Interment Hillside
