Well, to be fair, the KV doctrine would be to have the baseball season during the summer.  Players can go to summer school and take off one of the semesters, or take lighter loads.  Or not go to class.  Whatever!!

 

But just as football is to be played in the fall, baseball should be played in the summer.  Practice should not start until about April 15 and there should be restrictions on off season practices just like the other sports.

 

But who am I to criticize the NCAA????

Northern teams are always going to be at a major disadvantage to Southern teams due to weather. Southern teams and players can practice year around. Also, interest in baseball is much greater. Locally here in Florida, high school baseball is huge and attendance at games is bigger than for basketball.

Did y’all notice that most, if not all, NCAA baseball playoff venues have been south of the Mason Dixon Line?

 

That tOSU lost two straight to be eliminated?  I haven’t noticed Minny yet.

 

It looks to me like the B1G is way behind the curve for developing top flight baseball teams.

Yes, it is slow. That is the way we should want it, at least until the PTL starts at the end of the month. Any real news at this time would generally be negative, like a player becoming hurt, getting arrested, or leaving the team. I just try to find a story every day or so to be sure Herky is still working.
