Spencer Lee and Gavin Teasdale just committed to Iowa.  Lee is the #1
recruit in the 2017 class and Teasdale is currently ranked the #3 prospect
in the 2018 class.  Lee will probably be a career 125 and Teasdale will be
at 133/141.  This is huge for Iowa wrestling (and I am probably understating
things - think Lebron James committing to Iowa as a junior in High School )
Lee already has a couple of world titles in freestyle (Cadet and Junior) and
is the type of guy that you consider a possible four time college champion.
Teasdale does not have the same resume yet but I was just reading recently
that some thought Teasdale might end up being the better of the two.

 

Both of them are part of Young Guns wrestling club in PA.  Kemmerer (Fr this
year) and Young (SR in HS this year) are also part of this club. If Iowa can
establish/keep this connection and get a top guy out of that club each year
would be big.

 

I guess this answers the question of whether the Ramos incident would hurt
Iowa going forward - clearly not.

 

I try to follow wrestling recruiting and I knew Iowa had a chance with Lee.
Everyone had it down to PSU and Iowa.  Never saw anything on Teasdale
concerning Iowa. I am shocked that they got both of these guys.
