In 7 of the last 10 years, Iowa finished last of the Big Ten in the directors' cup. (thru 13-14) I looked up 14-15 through April and we were 8th out of 14. (31st) 

4 big 10 teams were in the top 10. 
When was the last time we won a Big title of any kind? Track I think a couple of years ago?

Several sports had solid years. Some sports had miserable years. Some had outstanding years. The only thing missing from this list is National Championships. Other than a few elite programs, (Ohio State being the most obvious choice this year), you won’t find many ‘multiple’ championship teams at the same program consistently.  I have no problem pointing out our flaws, but let’s also give a fair representation. We have a long way to go, but we are not digging out of a hole here. Probably not a good sign if AD feels it's necessary to throw bouquets to fans to try to boost the rep and credibility of a coach after, lo, so many years in charge😇!
