[Herky] Iowa AD believes fully that Ferentz is the right guy | FOX Sports

There definitely has been mixed results with the athletic teams this year,
but football definitely financially subsidizes the majority of these
sports.  Winning in the Olympic sports doesn't help financially.  Even with
the recent success and support for baseball, I would be surprised if the
expenses were lower than revenues.  Everything I've read (and the internet
is always right) states that donations and football tickets are down this
year due to consecutive under performing years of the football team.  Even
though college athletics is "amateur," we are fooling ourselves if we don't
think of this as a business and the Athletic Director is the CEO.  If
football can no longer support the other sports, Barta is ultimately
accountable.

This will be an interesting year with the football team and the downstream
effects.

Hopefully, the team surprises and exceeds expectations.
