The coaches eat, breathe and live basketball every day.  They watch games and videos all the time.  I have confidence that if a kid cannot jump, is slow and otherwise is a klutz they will recognize it.

 

It is fun on this forum to second guess.  No problem there.  But let’s give these competent and hardworking coaches some credit for seeing and analyzing ability.

 

Or do they think it is important to bring in Iowa kids even if their butts never leave the pine?  I doubt it.

 

I wonder why the Clones didn’t offer this kid.

Ted, my thoughts exactly.   

Is this another case of a guy much taller than opponents and rarely has to jump to get a rebound.  While some of those guys eventually play well for the Hawks, they’ve had so many that were such a project.  

OTOH, I hate to see Iowa pass on Iowa kids. 

I, for one, do like the track Fran is taking the team.  At this point, he’s getting some good players and there’s a buzz about the team.

I watched the video..and have to admit..this young man is 6"9" and I did not see him "Dunk" once ..and he was playing against and bunch of small white guys..not sure I am all that impressed !!!! BUT...hope is turns out to be another A. White for us !!!!!
