The Stars acquired guard Samantha Logic in a trade
with the Atlanta Dream, head coach and general
manager Dan Hughes announced. Atlanta will receive a
second-round pick from the Stars in 2016.

A 5-foot-9 All-American guard from Iowa, Logic was
the 10th pick in April’s WNBA Draft. She has played
in only four games with the Dream, averaging 5.8 minutes.

At Iowa, Logic became the first player in NCAA
history to amass 1,500 points, 900 rebounds, 800
assists and 200 steals. She had six triple-doubles,
the second most in NCAA history. Logic averaged 13.4
points, 8.1 assists and 7.0 rebounds this past season
as the Hawkeyes advanced to the Sweet 16 for the
first time since 1996 before losing to Baylor.

To make room for Logic, the Stars waived guard
Brittany Hrynko, who played in five games and
averaged three minutes. Hrynko was selected 19th
overall by Connecticut, then traded on draft night to
Atlanta, which cut her after only two days of
training camp. The Stars signed Hrynko to a training
camp deal May 27, and she earned a spot on the team’s
opening-day roster.
